Our Patron Saint - St. Peter
Saint Peter, also known as Simon Peter, was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ and holds a central place in Christian tradition. Originally a fisherman, he became a key figure in the early Christian Church. In the New Testament, he is often depicted as a close disciple of Jesus, witnessing significant events such as the Transfiguration and the Last Supper.
Jesus called him the "rock" upon which He would build His Church, signifying Peter's foundational role. Despite moments of doubt and denial, Peter emerged as a prominent leader in the early Christian community, playing a crucial role in spreading the teachings of Jesus. Tradition holds that he was martyred in Rome, crucified upside down, as he felt unworthy to share the same fate as his Lord. Saint Peter is revered as a symbol of faith, repentance, and unwavering commitment in Christian theology.
